Provider schedule outcomes

1. Enable Provider Schedules = Yes, Show Unscheduled Providers = Yes

  • Outcome:
    • If a provider is scheduled for the day, their provider column will appear, and any appointments in the custom column will also appear separately.
    • If the provider is not scheduled but has an appointment in the custom column, both the provider column and the custom column will appear. The provider’s appointments will be visible in both columns as appropriate (the provider column for their schedule, the custom column for appointments specific to it).

2. Enable Provider Schedules = Yes, Show Unscheduled Providers = No

  • Outcome:
    • If a provider is scheduled, their provider column will appear, and the custom column will also be displayed if there are appointments under it.
    • If the provider is not scheduled but has an appointment in the custom column, the custom column will appear, but the provider column will not show up, as Show Unscheduled Providers = No restricts the provider column from being displayed when they are not scheduled.

3. Enable Provider Schedules = No, Show Unscheduled Providers = Yes

  • Outcome:
    • All provider columns will appear regardless of scheduling status, and the custom column will also appear if appointments exist for it.
    • The provider’s provider column will be shown, and the custom column will also be displayed with any related appointments. This means both the provider column and the custom column will be visible even if the provider is not scheduled.

4. Enable Provider Schedules = No, Show Unscheduled Providers = No

  • Outcome:
    • All provider columns will be displayed regardless of scheduling status, but custom columns will only appear if the provider is scheduled or has appointments for that day.
    • If the provider is not scheduled, their provider column will still appear due to Enable Provider Schedules = No, but the custom column will only appear if there are appointments specific to it.

Summary for Scenarios with Both Provider and Custom Columns:

  • Provider Column: Appears based on whether the provider is scheduled (or if Enable Provider Schedules = No, in which case it always appears). The provider column represents the provider's general schedule for the day.
  • Custom Column: Appears alongside the provider column if there are any appointments under that custom column. It will not replace the provider column and exists separately to display customized schedules or appointment sets.

In essence, both the provider column and the custom column can be present simultaneously, and the appearance of the provider column follows the same rules outlined previously, while the custom column displays appointments unique to that custom configuration.
